When a group of artists review your work and select your firm to design and build their new website, it leaves you a bit tongue tied. Nevertheless, when the South Western Artists Association located at studio 23 in Balboa Park, San Diego, gave us this opportunity we knew we had to deliver something exceptional. The reputation of Columbus, Ohio hung in the balance.
The association was founded in 1949 and they have the largest membership of artists in Spanish Village. This is a volunteer organization for artists and by artists to promote their work and professions.
During our discovery process with their team of several artists, we confirmed that the main purpose of the website was to promote visitors to their location at Balboa Park and to offer a way to promote the work of the members. The site would be a way to promote the association and benefits to new members. It was also important to be able to do their own regular content updates.
We provided several design ideas to choose form and worked closely with their team to flush out the details. A Gallery page and a page for each member was wireframed and then mocked up. We also recommended a page with information to plan a visit to the village. There is even a page to promote the shows and displays which are scheduled evert two weeks. The new website has been the outcome of collaborative effort and teamwork between the parties.
With effective promotions using regular newsletters and social media posts, the new website should start attracting traffic and converting site visitors to foot traffic in the coming months.
