Anatomy of a Rip It project; how to build a website efficiently.
We have long held that must of the cost of designing and developing a new website comes form transnational time incurred in going back and forth with clients on the content and details. If only all the content and decisions could be made ahead of time, we believed we could squeeze a lot of extraneous time out of such projects. Hence the rationale for our RIP IT project offer. If a client gives us all the content and approves the design in a single phase, we can build out the website in short order, saving time and money. Olentangy The Condominium was a text book case of this plan put to the test.
The client was able to give us all their content, requirements, logo and images at one time in a single stroke. There were two or three documents that were modifies later but these were easily swapped out and did not require significant redesign or rebuilt. The approval process was also equally efficient. Access to domains and accounts was also given correct and efficiently.
The old website morphed into the new site within a few days. We incurred less than half the usual time taken for similar projects. The entire website was delivered at a third of what similar sites usually cost.
The clients were also very happy. The residents have been using the site to good effect for their maintenance and other needs.
